Digital Recording for the National Library Service

Digital Recording for the National Library Service

Recordings are done in one of BAAB’s four recording studios by a team of two—the narrator and the monitor. The monitor oversees the digital recording using Recording Studio software. Following the recording, reviewers listen for any error (incorrect/mispronounced word, improper inflection, etc.) and the recording team makes any necessary corrections.

After corrections have been made, each recording goes through post-processing (volume normalization, noise reduction, etc.). Recordings are them processed using special software to insert navigation points, compression and encryption. The final product is distributed to recipients to be played on a special player.

Currently we are reading the following magazines:

Audubon
Vital Speeches of the Day
National Geographic History
